I participated in a 13-week program where I was placed on the Veteran Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee. Daily work included constituent correspondence, drafting bill summaries, bill analysis, new legislation, amendments and resolutions, and research for past, present and upcoming legislation germane to my committee. I attended weekly workshops with key thinkers, planners and decision-makers to gain an in-depth look at the legislature, its history, structure and activities. As a culminating project I developed and defended an original piece of legislation.

This was a summer hire position with daily activities including sales, stocking groceries, maintaining ration control, checking military identification and ration cards. I developed strong accounting and monetary skills while balancing my daily cash count and strong interpersonal skills during full-time interaction with customers both in English and Korean.

· Charted a youth community service organization through Lion’s Club International.
